Matthew Hayden (Haydos)

Matthew Hayden was born in Queensland on 29th Oct 1971... Hayden make his international debut against SA in 1994 in Johannesburg scoring just 15 and 5 runs in each innings... His maiden century was against WI and he scored 125 in Adelaide.. But his century was helped by a lots of dropped catches by the west indian fielders.. His average was just 21.7 in the starting stages of his career and it dint help him to keep his place in the team.. While the openers like Mark Taylor and Matthew Elliot was scoring runs heavily when compared to Haydos it seems like his international career was almost over... During these days he scored heavily and consistently for his domestic team queensland.. And in 2000 season he was awarded for his consistence and a place in the team... His turning point of the career came when Australia toured India in 2001., he scored 549 runs with an average of 109.80 .... Even though Australia lost the series his batting was the talking point of the series.. Another notable performer was Harbhajan... After that series he become an automatic choice for an opener in all three formats.. He and Gilchrist in Oneday Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals , Hayden and Langer in Tests forms a deadly combination for any opposition...
